The Leadership Tech Experience is a multiyear, co-curricular leadership development opportunity for Virginia Tech students. The curriculum is based upon the Division of Student Affairs Aspirations for Student Learning. Through participation in Leadership Tech, students have the opportunity to prepare for, engage in, and reflect upon each of the Aspirations for Student Learning in a small group setting. Each Leadership Tech participant is a member of a small group led by two peer mentors who are passionate about student leadership and the spirit of Ut Prosim (That I May Serve). During the academic year, Leadership Tech participants have the opportunity to attend large group Leadership Dialogues with Virginia Tech alumni. Students and alumni dialogue and learn together in this unique learning laboratory.
Selection for the Leadership Tech Experience begins with an online application available the beginning of fall semester. This application is available on GobblerConnect. Students who are selected, participate in weekly meetings to discuss the Aspirations for Student Learning, leadership experiences, and how they see the university’s motto, Ut Prosim enrich their own lives.
