Director of the Leadership Education Collaborative
Heather Evans is the director for Leadership Education Collaborative. In this role, Evans oversees crucial student leadership education opportunities that offer students the tools to invent the future. Her previous role at Virginia Tech was as the director for Fraternity and Sorority Life where she provided overall leadership, strategic planning and support to the four governing councils, as well as leadership and supervision to the team members in Fraternity and Sorority Life. She worked closely with the aspects of strategic planning, leadership, assessment, conduct, Phase IV housing in Oak Lane, and policies and procedures. She serves on various committees including co-convening the Division of Student Affairs Learning Aspirations Embrace Ut Prosim as a Way of Life committee, the Aspirations Symposium Planning Committee, the Virignia Tech Student Experiences Task Force, and the Fraternity and Sorority Life Advisory Council.
After receiving a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing from the College of William and Mary, Evans spent four years holding various positions with Delta Delta Delta Fraternity’s Executive Office in Arlington, Texas. She then spent eight years with Radford University, most recently serving as associate director for Student Activities and Leadership. She received her master’s degree in business administration from Radford University in 2006.
Evans is a Ph.D. student in the Higher Education Program at Virginia Tech. She is a former recipient of the Advisor of the Year Award from the Southeastern Panhellenic Association and has membership in the Order of Omega, Beta Gamma Sigma International Business Honor Society, the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors, NASPA: Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, and ILA: International Leadership Association.
